About the founder
James Doddrell is a leading architect with a career spanning over 20 years.
James studied at the Bartlett School of Architectural, gaining a double first. He has worked with some of London’s best known architectural studios before starting his own practice in 2006. James has completed projects in London, the South East and UK wide. He has also worked internationally with a continuing interest in Lagos.
James’s practice has continued to developed with each successful project, always with a focus on design & providing a high quality professional service. James is interested in providing an expansive range of architectural services and resources usually assimilated with larger practices, by developing a network of highly skilled building related professionals that can be appointed on your project.

Healthcare
Our healthcare clients are NHS Trusts, Specialist Healthcare Medical Centres, Private Clinics, Primary Care Facilities, General Practitioners Surgeries; to Healthcare Equipment providers & Specialist Medical Building Contractors.
Our healthcare work ranges from complex specialist refurbishments projects involving the installation of new healthcare Imaging, Diagnostic & Interventional Healthcare equipment, to the creation of newly constructed departments, extensions & dedicated new build healthcare buildings.
We help create internal & external spaces that are well planned & detailed and promote health & wellbeing, using evidence based design to challenge existing standards & promote innovation.
Healthcare delivery is facing numerous challenges, including a growing, ageing population, a higher incidence of chronic non-communicable and lifestyle diseases, as well as budgetary restrictions. We are switching from cure to prevention. A Healthcare facility needs to be individually & meticulously planned; but ultimately, the success of a healthcare building is measured by how well it functions – how well the physical environment impacts patient stress, patient & staff safety, staff effectiveness & quality of care provided in the healthcare settings.

Commercial
We have worked with high profile commercial clients such as Hearst Magazines Ltd, producers of the Good Housekeeping brand, to independent private companies and charity organisations.
Our commercial work ranges from smaller interventions, improvements & refurbishment works, within the existing working environments to the creation of new expanding facilities as these businesses grow.
In each & every project we first aim to fully understand the client’s functional requirements, before presenting an individual design response. We help create internal & external spaces that are well planned & detailed & we hope meet the client’s aims & objectives.
Private Clients
Our private clients range from individual home owners, who are planning to develop, extend or refurbish their property, as well as property developers constructing new build properties and housing developments.
Our services are based on the RIBA schedule of services and include feasibility, planning advice, concept & design, coordination of the planning stages, detailed design & a range of services to aid these clients through the construction stages.
Our projects have ranged from designs for Listed Buildings, Buildings of Town Scape merit and properties located in Metropolitan Green Belt Land, to urban apartments and properties with site constraints. We employ standard architectural practices and project processes, but each project requires a unique approach. This is the challenge we relish!
